The Whole Story: I am very pleased to announce my participation in and completion of the Spring Cohort of Kile Ozier - Creative Venture Catalyst's Masterclass, “Getting the Best from Our Teams, Giving the Best to our Audiences”.

“Doesn’t matter if you are producing a live show, designing a VR experience, managing a technical program, or formulating an executive brief for stakeholders, because there is something here that works everywhere. Sales professionals? Check. Program Managers? Check. Consultants? Check. Storytellers? Check, check, and check.

“I will fully admit that I did not think I was that “anyone.”

In my mind, I was not even on the list, but Kile encouraged me – repeatedly and with knowing smiles - to join an upcoming cohort, and I admit I enjoyed myself from the first session. I (re)learned some hard-won truths from earlier in my career, and I met a great cast of people with wildly different perspectives and experiences that heightened my appreciation of what it takes to create something that grabs the attention, respects the audience, and raises the stakes in how stories can be told.

“It also reinforced for me what and how a “performance” can be. Not just a live spectacle or filmed event or staged play, but what that word – performance – can mean to an audience, to your stakeholders, to your clients. And while we do not always think of those three types of people as the same, they can be. How you engage one group may be more applicable to the others than you think.”

Creative Catalyst is a book that serves anyone involved in teams of creative enterprises. For entry level professionals the book is a lens to reveal and focus on the realities of the industry. The tone is an appropriate balance between the candor of challenges you will face and reverence for the satisfaction uniquely available in designing experiences. For mid-career professionals the book will augment your expertise and round out gaps from a professional with a multi decade and global pedigree.

“For senior executives and business owners it will challenge you to reexamine what may be embedded assumptions, either strengthening your confidence or allowing you to embrace new ideas- all to the betterment of your business.”
